A product-led, regulated technology organisation is adding a Product Security Lead to own security across a portfolio of connected software and systems. The role is deeply technical, sitting alongside architecture and engineering, with responsibility for how security controls are designed, validated, and maintained over time.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for defining and enforcing product security standards across development and release cycles. The focus is on secure architecture, threat modelling, vulnerability handling, and ensuring security requirements are consistently applied across multiple product lines. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct influence over technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead security architecture reviews and threat modelling activities

• Define secure development and product security standards

• Oversee vulnerability management and coordinated remediation

• Guide secure design across embedded, application, and cloud components

• Review and challenge security assumptions in product designs

• Partner with engineering, quality, and delivery teams on security decisions

• Track product risk, security debt, and maturity metrics

• Mentor product and security engineers on secure design practices

Skills & Experience

• 8+ years in product security, application security, or embedded security

• Strong experience with threat modelling methodologies and secure design

• Background in regulated, safety-critical, or compliance-driven environments

• Hands-on understanding of secure SDLC and vulnerability workflows

• Experience working across firmware, software, and cloud-connected systems

• Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, IEC 62443, or similar

• Ability to translate security risk into engineering-level decisions
